The Ritz Five movie theater in Philadelphia’s Old City section has reopened, just in time for Labor Day weekend.
In a post on social media Friday, the theater announced it is once again showing movies to the public.
Background on the Closure
The theater at the corner of Walnut and Dock Streets was ordered last month to cease operations. The shutdown came after authorities determined the venue needed to obtain an electrical permit and install a fire alarm system in the building before resuming business.
With those requirements now met, the popular Old City cinema has returned in time for moviegoers looking to catch a show during the holiday.
