New Jersey Lt. Gov. Dale Caldwell is under investigation for alleged inappropriate behavior toward women, according to multiple reports.
The Investigation
A source confirmed the inquiry began several weeks ago at the request of Gov. Sherrill’s administration. Former state Attorney General Christopher Porrino and his partners at Lowenstein Sandler LLP are conducting the investigation.
Porrino brings significant legal experience to the probe, having previously served as New Jersey’s top law enforcement official.
Governor’s Statement
In a statement released last week, the governor’s office said Sherrill “takes any reports of inappropriate behavior or misconduct seriously.”
Response from Caldwell’s Office
Caldwell’s office has not responded to requests for comment regarding the allegations or the ongoing investigation.
