The Ritz Five movie theater in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood has reopened, just in time for Labor Day weekend.
The Reopening
The theater announced its return in a social media post on Friday, letting filmgoers know that movies are once again playing at the popular venue.
Located at the corner of Walnut and Dock Streets, the Ritz Five is a familiar fixture in the historic neighborhood.
Why It Closed
City officials had ordered the theater to cease operations last month. The order required the venue to obtain an electrical permit and install a fire alarm system in the building before resuming any screenings.
With those requirements now met, the theater is back open and welcoming moviegoers once again.
